Meet Danessa
Danessa is a native New Yorker born & raised in Staten Island with roots that take her back to Sierra Leone, West Africa. Her passion for traveling started over 20 years ago as she would make frequent trips to the United Kingdom to visit her family. Little did she know that these experiences out of the country would be the catalyst to the traveler she is today.
In 2015 when she was old enough to travel on her own, Danessa and a group of her friends planned a trip to the Dominican Republic. To be immersed in a different culture and to see another side of world beauty sparked a deep love within Danessa. Since that moment she has been unable to put her passport down. Having visited over 20 countries and 19 U.S. states, Danessa has become well versed in the world of travel.
Melanated Wanderlust was created to inspire other travelers to find that same love of traveling within themselves. What started off as a travel blog has now turned into a full service travel agency that specializes in curating unforgettable experiences that cater to our clients. With carefully curated trips, itineraries & coaching, Danessa’s goal is to show others that there is more to life outside the borders of their homes.
